How to Complete a Name Search

1. Search by Defendant. First search use full last name, first name and date of birth. Tick the box to use Soundex.

Search result shows one (1) case that matches the name and DOB. Take note of the reportable case(s) that may appear in the result because we will be doing another search. Click Refine Search to return to the search page

  2. Search by Defendant. Search using full name, first name but this time without the date of birth. Use Soundex box is still ticked.

Result Page:

Now the search result shows four (4) cases that matches the name. We make this second search variation to search for a possible near matching name and date of birth that has a slight difference. Like the first search take note once again for any reportable case(s) that may appear in the result. Click the Refine Search button again and we will be performing the last search variation.

3. Search by Defendant. Search using first three letters of the last name, first three letters of the first name followed by an asterisk (*) with the date of birth, unticked the box Use Soundex.

Now the search result shows one (1) case that matches the name and DOB. We make this third search variation to broaden the search and see possible near matching names that have a slight difference after the first three (3) letters of the criteria.
